THE OLD WAYS
Personal Doodles and Poems

About These Writings
I am not Native American, and you can
consider some of my comments as personal
reflections. Some of the work is based on legends. I
am an inexperienced with words, but I love to write about the
wind, sky, and earth. If you are moved by any of the
poems at Talking Tree, you are invited to become a
member of my
reading Group.
Within the group is an archive of my writings.

"In the night, the smell of smoke
from some old fire
reminds me of forgotten traditions.
The sky then is filled with
candled stars that make the desert
glow.
What is it that makes the fire of
silence burn so hot.
My spirit will not stay shut up. I
will find the ways of truth.
The sky and earth is where I
search."

Some Doodles
My drawings were created with
black ink pen. The print with the initials "NRC"
was an image that I created in grade school.
